Yes—HA Fillers Can Be Reversed
Most popular fillers, including Juvéderm® and Restylane®, are made with hyaluronic acid (HA)—a naturally occurring substance in the body. These types of fillers can be dissolved using an enzyme called Hylenex (hyaluronidase), which breaks down HA and allows the body to metabolize it.
What Hylenex Can and Can’t Do
While Hylenex is effective, it doesn’t always remove 100% of the product. Because fillers can disperse or migrate, some areas may retain small amounts of HA, especially if injected deeply or in large volumes. Multiple treatments may be needed for full correction.
Non-HA Fillers Are Not Reversible
Fillers like Sculptra® and Radiesse® are biostimulatory and cannot be reversed with Hylenex. These fillers stimulate your body’s own collagen production, so their effects fade naturally over time but can't be “undone” with a reversal enzyme.
Why Reversal May Be Needed
People seek reversal for various reasons—migration, overfilling, asymmetry, or simply a change in aesthetic goals. A skilled provider can assess your options and guide you through a safe dissolving process if appropriate.
Consultation Is Essential
If you’re considering filler removal or correction, book a consultation. At Pure Skin, we’ll evaluate the product type, placement, and how much correction is possible before proceeding with any dissolving treatments.
Yes, some fillers are reversible—but not all. Knowing what type of product you’ve had injected is crucial when considering dissolving. At Pure Skin, we offer expert evaluation and customized correction plans to help you feel confident in your results—whether you’re adding or removing volume.
